Historic changes impacting SBA's loan changes have far reaching implications for
small business lenders and Rural America's Main Street businesses.
One opportunity lenders should explore is how a companion loan combination of
SBA and USDA B&I loans can be used to meet the needs of growing rural small
businesses, while greatly mitigating a lender's risk.
We have added this session to Coleman's 2010 Rural Lender Roundtable in
Washington DC on Wednesday, October 13th.
Eric Zarnikow, SBA's Associate Administrator for the Office of Capital Access
will join USDA's B&I Deputy Administrator Pandor Hadgy to inform lenders how to
structure these deals.
Call us today at 800 617-1380 to register for this event. The cost is only $695,
and we won't charge you a late registration fee.

Rural Lenders' Roundtable
October 12-13 in Washington, D.C.
Optional -- October 14 visit to Capitol Hill
The Rural Lenders' Roundtable is a unique opportunity for lenders to meet and
dialogue with the top USDA Rural Business Services Administrator and senior
staff responsible for implementing the current guaranteed loan programs and for
shaping future changes. Registration for the Rural Lenders' Roundtable will be
capped to assure that there is plenty of face-to-face interaction with the
featured Panelists, including USDA Administrator Judith Canales and Deputy
Administrator, USDA Rural Development Pandor Hadjy. The atmosphere will be
informal to facilitate dialogue and discussion. Bring your questions as every
registered participant will have the opportunity to directly ask questions of
the Roundtable panelists.
Judith Canales, USDA's Administrator for Rural Business and Cooperative Programs
at Rural Development, will open the Rural Lenders' Roundtable on Tuesday
morning, October 13, with a Rural Lending Update. She will brief participants on
the latest USDA rural lending news plus her perspective on the future direction
of rural lending based on the Obama administration's vision. Lenders will be
able to ask Ms. Canales questions and share their concerns about rural lending,
an interaction opportunity that makes this event special.
Following Ms. Canales on the agenda will be Rural Development's top staff -
Curtis Wiley, Chief of Staff to RBS Administrator at USDA Rural Development and
Pandor Hadjy, Deputy Administrator, USDA Rural Development. They are key
decision makers on specific guaranteed loans. Lenders at the Roundtable will
hear first-hand how they make those important decisions. Part of their
presentations will include specifics on the B&I Lending Point System and tips to
arrive at your 2011 USDA lending budget. Again, Roundtable participants will
have the opportunity to directly ask these panelists questions in this
face-to-face, roll-up-your-sleeves meeting.
Additional topics that will be discussed at the Rural Lenders' Roundtable
include:
· Secondary Market outlook for 2011
· Getting paid on the USDA B&I loan guaranty
· Compensating the USDA B&I Business Development Officer
· Access to capital issues: What exactly is the USDA loan guaranty worth?
· Backroom issues: A candid sharing session of how lenders are addressing
servicing and liquidation issues
· PLUS, any other issues you, the Roundtable participants, would like to put on
the table for discussion with your peers.
The final day of the Roundtable, Thursday, October 14, will be a special visit
to Capitol Hill. Coleman Publishing is arranging informal meetings with members
of Congress and Congressional staffers who are involved with rural lending
policy development. This promises to be a great opportunity to have a
conversation with the individuals drafting the legislation that will drive the
future of rural lending.
